This brings the concept of aromatherapy to the next level.
NTT Com is announcing its Mobile Fragrance Communication service pilot. The concept is relatively simple. You place a dedicated wireless device in your home that contains pre-loaded cartridges of base fragrances. This device is able to communicate via infrared or email to your mobile phone. Your phone has a “playlist” of fragrance recipes that can be sent to the device in your home. The home device receives the recipe, mixes the specific fragrances and emits them.

I’m not sure I fully understand the importance of being able to control this device from a mobile phone. Why not just have the controls in the base unit itself?
I suppose you could send a loved one the gift of smell from afar.
